So much to catch up on

Okay, so we had 22 inches of snow and my car was not moving! Snow was higher than my bumper and the complex didn't come out until the next day to even begin to clean up the parking lot. Fun stuff!
Everyone at work has been sick and I was not left out. Got so sick that I went through 1 1/2 boxes of PUFFS in 3 days and lost my voice for one of those days. Had to do something that I do NOT do all that often and that was call off work. I hate missing work and the money that my check doesn't get when I miss.

Spring is in the air and Hubby bought me a new Bass Guitar. I liked my original one just fine but the neck was so thick that I had problems reaching the frets on the top string. Brian figured that if I was happier with the guitar then I would practice more. I do love my new guitar! Have been taking lessons for 2 months now and my instructor says I am doing good. Learning to play "Working Man" by RUSH along with my lessons in BASS Book 1.

CAN'T WAIT FOR SPRING AND WARMER WEATHER !

Have also become a foster home for ferrets. I am part of HOFA and we rescue ferrets from unsafe homes and accept surrendered ferrets. I love giving loving homes to fuzzies! I have 4 of my own and soon to help with surrendering 2 more.

Until next time!

New Addition to the Family !

This is OSCAR and he is a new addition to my family. Merlin was getting lonely and needed a friend. You can't have just one ferret, you have to have at least 2 or even MORE !
You cannot believe just how much you love these little fuzzy creatures. They are just like cats or dogs and sometimes they are even more lovable. Ferrets have a very short life span and they are very lovable little things. Yes, you have to keep the cage clean and of course feed and make sure that they have water. But don't you have to do the same thing for cats, dogs and even your kids?!?!?!?!?! I don't purchase ferrets at the pet stores, I get them from HOFA and rescue a lovable little fuzzy from someone who decided that taking care of something was not for them. That is so sad that someone could treat these lovable creatures so mean.
Go to google and put in "HOFA" and you will see the website for the rescue organization here in Ohio. Please only adopt ferrets if you are willing to devote yourself to taking care of them. They are not a passing fancy like a hamster or gerbil.

IT'S AMAZING ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I cannot believe just how great it feels to be caught up on bills. Even got a couple "PAID IN FULL" and that is also a great feeling.

It's a new year and things are going a little better. I hope things keep going in this direction.

I lost one of my furry friends, Monty - the ferret. (on the right) Ferrets only live a few years and Monty was a rescue ferret that knew he was loved in his new home. He actually lived almost 2 years longer than expected. Merlin and Gimli (the two surviving ferrets) miss him and so do I. (Merlin is pictured on the left)

Monday is my birthday and another year has passed. I try not to look at the bad things in the past but instead look forward to better things. When I turned 40 I went through a time where I didn't want to buy anything for myself because I figured that I couldn't take it with me and it would be one more thing for my survivors to have to deal with. Then I thought, what the heck, can't take money with me either, may as well enjoy life while I am here and quit worrying about dieing and what death would be like. I can't live with being scared so I did my best to turn myself around. Of course bills have to come first but I am trying to otherwise enjoy life to it's fullest. Buddha and going to temple have helped a lot.

So, Happy New Year !

2008 Is on it's way VERY soon !

Okay, so it's almost another new year. Seems to me I just celebrated the incoming of this year (2007) just yesterday. For me, I get to celebrate New Year's two times. One on December 31 and one on or around February 7. You see, I celebrate the new year that everyone else does and I also celebrate the changing of the Chinese New Year. Being Buddhist part of my life revolves around the Lunar calendar instead of the 12 month calendar everyone else goes by. That can sometimes be confusing. 2008 is the year of the RAT.

Winter is here for sure now and we have seen some snow. Winters have been really light here the last few years as I remember the "Blizzard of 1978" to this day. That was the year that my 16th birthday got completely ruined by the biggest snow storm that I have ever seen. No school for almost 3 weeks, which would mean making up all those days if it were to happen now a days. ICK !

Stay warm and cuddle up with someone warm to celebrate the coming of the new year. Hope you 2008 is better than your 2007 was and not as good as your 2009 will be. Drink a drink for me as I have to work and will be unable to party.

Holidays..................................................

I am sure that when I was a kid I loved the holidays. I think that it was because I didn't know any better or maybe I just loved the idea of a big fat jolly man in a red suit with a white beard and mustache. One year I even carried my illusion so far as to think that I heard something on the roof about 1:00 in the morning. I even went in to wake my parents to tell them that "Santa Claus is here, I heard the reindeer on the roof!" Now that I am older I do believe that there is a Spirit of Santa Claus that is the Spirit of giving. But shouldn't that Spirit live year round and not just in December?

Charities want us to give to help people in other countries who are starving. Sorry, but I do not give to those charities. Yes, I am terrible! Actually my reason for this is that we have people who are homeless and starving right here in our own country that I feel we should take care of them first. Maybe the "National Debt" wouldn't be so large if we didn't send our money to other countries and invested in our own country for once. Maybe we should bring our soldiers home and get our oil from Alaska in an environmentally safe way and let them deal with their own problems. You know the whole, "Keep your nose to yourself thing"? I always thought that charity started at home.

Okay, so I'll get off my soap box for now and do the right thing for this time of year and say:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOUR KIN AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR !

ME ! Updated and scarier than ever!

Hello there!
Well, here is my new hair cut. If only I could style it like the stylist at the salon. I have never been able to make my hair look like they do at the salon. I can try but I can never get it.
Okay, so the holidays are almost here. BAH HUMBUG !
Cold weather has arrived along with 3 inches of snow. YAY! Not really.
Work is going okay, I suppose. It's better than where I was. I made stat money for last pay period so extra money on my check Friday. More money to pay bills and buy food is always good. I entered the Secret Santa at work. We exchanged names for anonymous gift and poem exchange. Yes, poem! I have to write a poem about the person that I drew. Funny thing is that I have only known who this person even is for only approx 2 months now. This should be fun. If my poem is picked I can win some money. Gotta go work on that poem!

Goodbye Eva, We will miss you.................

This is a sad entry into my blog.
Today I have to let you know that our family has lost a member.
Eva Dearth passed away tonight and will be missed by her family and friends very much.
My Mother-in-law was a great lady, she loved her family very much and did everything she could to take care of everyone even to the point of not taking care of herself. I myself know that she has not been the same since we lost Harold, her husband, a few years ago.
Why Garfield? I am sure you were asking yourself that. Well, Garfield was Eva's favorite cartoon character. Eva has a collection of Garfield (s ) at home. So I thought it was fitting that he be here to help to say good bye.
Please, go up to someone you love and give them a big hug. They or you might be gone tomorrow.
