2008 Is on it's way VERY soon !

Okay, so it's almost another new year. Seems to me I just celebrated the incoming of this year (2007) just yesterday. For me, I get to celebrate New Year's two times. One on December 31 and one on or around February 7. You see, I celebrate the new year that everyone else does and I also celebrate the changing of the Chinese New Year. Being Buddhist part of my life revolves around the Lunar calendar instead of the 12 month calendar everyone else goes by. That can sometimes be confusing. 2008 is the year of the RAT.

Winter is here for sure now and we have seen some snow. Winters have been really light here the last few years as I remember the "Blizzard of 1978" to this day. That was the year that my 16th birthday got completely ruined by the biggest snow storm that I have ever seen. No school for almost 3 weeks, which would mean making up all those days if it were to happen now a days. ICK !

Stay warm and cuddle up with someone warm to celebrate the coming of the new year. Hope you 2008 is better than your 2007 was and not as good as your 2009 will be. Drink a drink for me as I have to work and will be unable to party.

Holidays..................................................

I am sure that when I was a kid I loved the holidays. I think that it was because I didn't know any better or maybe I just loved the idea of a big fat jolly man in a red suit with a white beard and mustache. One year I even carried my illusion so far as to think that I heard something on the roof about 1:00 in the morning. I even went in to wake my parents to tell them that "Santa Claus is here, I heard the reindeer on the roof!" Now that I am older I do believe that there is a Spirit of Santa Claus that is the Spirit of giving. But shouldn't that Spirit live year round and not just in December?

Charities want us to give to help people in other countries who are starving. Sorry, but I do not give to those charities. Yes, I am terrible! Actually my reason for this is that we have people who are homeless and starving right here in our own country that I feel we should take care of them first. Maybe the "National Debt" wouldn't be so large if we didn't send our money to other countries and invested in our own country for once. Maybe we should bring our soldiers home and get our oil from Alaska in an environmentally safe way and let them deal with their own problems. You know the whole, "Keep your nose to yourself thing"? I always thought that charity started at home.

Okay, so I'll get off my soap box for now and do the right thing for this time of year and say:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOUR KIN AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR !

ME ! Updated and scarier than ever!

Hello there!
Well, here is my new hair cut. If only I could style it like the stylist at the salon. I have never been able to make my hair look like they do at the salon. I can try but I can never get it.
Okay, so the holidays are almost here. BAH HUMBUG !
Cold weather has arrived along with 3 inches of snow. YAY! Not really.
Work is going okay, I suppose. It's better than where I was. I made stat money for last pay period so extra money on my check Friday. More money to pay bills and buy food is always good. I entered the Secret Santa at work. We exchanged names for anonymous gift and poem exchange. Yes, poem! I have to write a poem about the person that I drew. Funny thing is that I have only known who this person even is for only approx 2 months now. This should be fun. If my poem is picked I can win some money. Gotta go work on that poem!

Goodbye Eva, We will miss you.................

This is a sad entry into my blog.
Today I have to let you know that our family has lost a member.
Eva Dearth passed away tonight and will be missed by her family and friends very much.
My Mother-in-law was a great lady, she loved her family very much and did everything she could to take care of everyone even to the point of not taking care of herself. I myself know that she has not been the same since we lost Harold, her husband, a few years ago.
Why Garfield? I am sure you were asking yourself that. Well, Garfield was Eva's favorite cartoon character. Eva has a collection of Garfield (s ) at home. So I thought it was fitting that he be here to help to say good bye.
Please, go up to someone you love and give them a big hug. They or you might be gone tomorrow.

Happy Turkey Day! (& stuff.....)

Well, I know that Thursday was Turkey Day but I still thought I would wish you a happy one.

It is getting colder outside and the other night Daddy sent me pictures of the year's first snow on his truck. It hasn't snowed where I am, that has actually stuck to the ground, yet this year.

First day of Winter is only a month away and people are watching the magick of their credit card balance rising. 'Tis the Season!
The Wal*Mart where my husband works had out Xmas stuff way back in October right next to the Halloween costumes. Seem like we see those decorations earlier and earlier every year. Pretty soon it will be Independence day on one side of the isle and Xmas on the other side. Have to push that season so that the stores can make their yearly money.
If I am on your Yuletide list please simply create an ecard or purchase a tree free card and simply wish me a happy season. No need to put yourself in debt for me. If you insist on purchasing a gift please go visit my new friend Laura at RIVET on High Street in Columbus and get me a gift card so I can get a new toy for my collection.

I hope everyone is happy and most of all healthy.
I hope everyone you love loves you back.
May Buddha and the Goddess smile on your life and keep you and your families safe in this holiday season. I wish you good luck and even more happiness in the new year to come.

Blessed be!

As you can see I collect dolls too. I have some of the Living Dead Dolls and also the Bleeding Edge Dolls. I have other types of dolls as well that I will show you later.

The trading party at RIVET last night was loads of fun. Got to trade some of my doubles for different Dunnies and also OX OP toys that I didn't have. Bought a couple of new ones as well only to get more doubles for the next trading party. If you are interested in the doubles contact me at ginny.dearth@yahoo.com and maybe we can work something out. I have 2 of the "Sherman" Finders Keepers and 2 of the Dunnies that I call "G money Dunny" also 1 extra of the Dunny that looks like a hamburger. I would be glad to trade or sell them to you for $10 each.

Don't eat too much on "Turkey Day" and have a great holiday!

Okay, so I bought a bass guitar and amp. I always wanted to learn how to play. Had a great chance to get the guitar for a low price and the amp wasn't that bad of a price either. Got them both for $75. Now all I need to do is learn how to play.

Once things get straightened out and bills are caught up I would like to get guitar lessons. Probably go to somewhere like Guitar Center or something to find the teacher.

Any cute guy wanna volunteer to teach me how to play????

No, seriously, is there a cute guy who wants to teach me how to play???

I just want to do it for fun, don't expect to ever be in a band or anything. I just want to have something that I can do when I need time to myself to unwind and of course to annoy the neighbors, I do live in an apartment. I promise to only play during the day so that I don't keep anyone from getting their beauty sleep.

Enjoy the cold weather. Snuggle up with someone you love, or even just like, or even just want to get close to and stay warm together. That is what makes cold weather fun.

Still love my tattoo - just not the project !

This little critter is a cricket. DUH !
Actually he is "crickee" from the animated feature film "MULAN"
I originally got him to show my dedication to my job. Even made sure that I had him for launch day of the project.
Now that I have left that company he is just another cute tattoo.
Funny how life works.
Those who don't work hard get the furthest and those who work with dedication get blamed for everything that goes wrong.
Makes me thing of a great saying:
Be careful what you wish for,
You just might get it !
You will find that having is not always so great as wanting.

Another Tattoo - Chinese Dragon

So here is another tattoo.
This one is on my right side and extends to the top of my thigh. Spent a total of 14 hours getting this one. First "sitting" was just the outline. If you look closely you can see little skulls in there. Second "sitting" was the red to give him life. This is a Chinese dragon.
Whats the difference between a Japanese dragon and a Chinese dragon? Wings! Chinese dragons don't have them.
First question everyone asks about tattoos:
Did it hurt?
I always have to answer with a "NO!"
I have 29 tattoos so far and none of them have hurt when getting them.
To be truthful the most annoying part about getting a tattoo is the healing process. They itch and you can't scratch. If you scratch the ink comes out in the scabs and that just isn't good.

G Money Dunny !

This is one of the Dunny Series 4 that I got from RIVET.
I have named him:
G Money Dunny !

I recently found RIVET while going to Magnolia ThunderPussy, a local record store here in Columbus, Ohio.
RIVET is an art gallery / obscure toy store that sells artwork and these really cool imported toys. Most are what is called "Blind Box" which means that you don't know which one you are getting until you open the box. Sometimes it's frustrating but most of the time I can't wait until I get home to open the box.
I have had pretty good luck as I haven't gotten any doubles yet. I have gotten a few that I consider "ugly". But will be attending the Trading Party in November to see if anyone got the ones that I really want.
It's a fun hobby and you will see pictures of a lot of them here on my blog.

First Post, Introduction, Stuff

Hello, I am Raven and I am starting a blog because I had a couple of people tell me that I am interesting and do interesting stuff, so I should share.
I collect stuff.
I love animals.
I have tattoos.
I have a VERY high tolerance for pain and have been suspended by 4 8 gauge hooks in my back.
I have been Wiccan for a long while.
I am also Buddhist.

I hope to keep this blog interesting so that people will come back just to see what this crazy Buddhist Witch has posted today. I am not sure how many times a week I will post stuff but being unpredictable is part of who I am, deal with it.
